Project 2006 Licht / Lucht

The latest project of Wim Bors compliments his previous one and is called "the North: North Western-Fryslân/Department le Nord France". Following successful exhibitions in the Smallingerland Museum in Drachten (2005) and the Josart Gallery in Amsterdam (2006), Gallery De Valk in Harlingen welcomes this new exhibition. The aim was to explore light variations and cloud formations in those Northern areas.

De exhibition at Gallery De Valk in Harlingen, can be visited from 30 June till 27 August 2006.

His own environment, the Dutch Wadden Shallows, is well known for its
flatness and clinging seabanks. By contrast, the second region, la Côte d'Opale in North-Western France is a hilly terrain with dunes and capricious chalk cliffs. Another contrast is the tranquility of the mud-flat as against the turbulence of the tidal ebbing and flowing on the North Western coast of France.

Digital photos taken by Wim Bors demonstrate those contrasting elements in both areas. Choosing seven photographic shots from fifty per region, Bors made his selection together with Huub Mous, an art consultant and expert from the province of Fryslan, and his wife artist Lucie de Blécourt. Also on show are video shots of sunrises of the Côote d'Opale and sunsets in North Western Fryslân.

For this exhibition there will be a loose leafed bibliographical booklet (limited edition) available.
